Hint: If you are going to upgrade from a previous version, please read our technical notes below. Our high-end solution allows you to produce color accurate proofs using the original print screen structure, making possible moirés visible. This saves you stress, time and money.

EFI Screenproof processes the one bit files produced by the existing RIP solution, using our proven color management technology. The number of customer complaints is reduced, and the EFI proofing system is affordable in purchase as well as in maintenance.

EFI Screenproof directly processes the one-bit files created from your platesetter or imagesetter RIP. In the next step, our proven ICC color management engine renders the correct color for matching the press print on your output device. Depending on the inkjet printer used, you can obtain screen resolutions up to 200 lpi.

  Technical notes for upgraders

  Before installing an upgrade to version 5.0.x, please keep the following in mind:
  
  
• The new 5.0.x linearization procedure is no longer based on densities, but on L*a*b* values. That's why densitometers and some spectral photometers are not supported any longer.
  
• Baselins and paper profiles from previous versions can be used with 5.0.x, but you can't re-linearize them. In our download section, you will find fully compatible profiles for Version 5.0.x and above in a separate area. The list is still growing, so — please check if your printer model in the desired resolution is among them!
  
• Some older printer models are not supported any longer. Please check if your printer is still in the list.
  
• The »banding fix« for Epson x600 devices is har coded in version 5.0.x. Profiles created without »banding fix« will lead to improper color results when used in Version 5.0.x. In this case, please use one of the 5.0.x profiles or create a new profile by yourself.
